The Treat Dispensing Ball is a 3 and a half inch wide chewing ball, with molded textural elements, and holes molded in for you to hide treats inside. Your dog will be rewarded as the ball rolls around and treats fall out. There is also a noisemaker inside that activates when the ball is rolled. It seems to be position based, as it doesn’t always make noise. The ball is made of a natural non toxic, durable rubber, is beef flavored, and is 10 mm thick, so this ball is going to last a while!

TTPM dog Dex tried out the Treat Dispensing Ball, and it was largely a hit! It took a minute for him to get the hang of the ball, as he’d frequently check for treats every time it moved even a little bit, and he even lost interest at one point, but the noisemaker quickly got his attention back. After that, he was a lot more active in his play time. Once the treats ran out though, he seemed to lose interest again.

Should I get it?

While our Dex seemed to only engage with the toy while there were treats, on paper, this toy was right up his alley. It’s well made, well constructed, and functional. We recommend giving it a try.

Pros

  • The textural elements on the surface offer a better grip and abrasion for teeth cleaning.
  • It can hide treats and dispense them on its own.
  • It has a noisemaker.
  • It’s very durable.

Cons

  • The noisemaker only works intermittently.
  • Anecdotally, our dog lost interest once the treats ran out.
