Drinkwell Pet Fountain Review

The PetSafe Drinkwell Pet Fountain comes in two sizes, 1 gallon and 2 gallon. Since our dogs are larger, we tried out the 2 gallon model. The setup is very easy, and comes with the Pet Fountain itself, a Carbon Filter, Foam Filter, Fountain Pump with Adaptor, and a Quick Start Guide. With the instructions, assembly takes no more than 10 minutes. The Pet Fountain not only trickles the water to encourage your pet to stay hydrated, but also cycles it through the carbon filter, catching and eliminating any hair and sediment from the water flow. If you want a quieter fountain, or wish to slow down the flow for whatever reason, there is a flow customization knob built in. Since assembly is so simple, cleaning is just as easy. Simply disassemble and clean each part individually. Refer to the instructions for proper care. Our test family has 2 dogs and 2 cats, and they all loved the fountain. With other pet water fountains, our big dog has always drained them quickly, but with the PetSafe 2-Gallon Fountain, the reservoir lasted much longer, which we really appreciated. This “set it and forget it” style fountain not only cuts down refill frequency, but ensures your pets are drinking filtered water, and plenty of it! The tradeoff is that you must replace the carbon filter every 2-4 weeks for optimal performance.
