Arizona 99 The Game Review

You can drink Arizona Iced Tea or you can play it thanks to the Arizona 99 The Game. The game contents of 82 cards and 20 can tokens come packaged in an Arizona Iced Tea can. The goal of the game is to reach 99 cents without going over. If you do, you’ll earn yourself a can. The first player to get four cans wins. 

Each player gets four cards and one can token to start. The rest of the cards become the draw pile. The first player picks a card from their hand and places it in the middle of the playing space, announcing the starting total. Then they draw a new card, and it’s the next player’s turn. This requires math because if someone plays a 2 and the next person plays a 4, they have to announce the total of 2+4, which is 6. If you play a card that makes the total 99 cents or keeps the total at 99 cents, you get a can token. There are special cards that help you keep the total at 99: Fight Inflation, Share the Love, and Pass the Buck. There are also special cards that make the total 69 cents, no matter what it was before; bring the total down by 10 cents; flip the digits on the total; add one cent or 11 cents, your choice; make the next player play two cards instead of one; and bring the total to 99 cents. 

Don’t push the count over 99 cents or you bust. When you can’t play a card that keeps the total at 99 or less, you lose a can token and the round ends. The next player starts a new round. 

You can play the game with two to 10 players ages 10 and up.
