Change up your Monopoly gameplay – and even make game go faster – with Monopoly Expansion sets. Free Parking Jackpot, Buy Everything, and Go to Jail are all fun updates to the classic Monopoly game. You will need a classic Monopoly game to play. All of these are for two to six players ages 8 and up.
Sometimes when people play Monopoly, they add money throughout the game to the Free Parking space. Well, that house rule is now reality in the Free Parking Jackpot Expansion. All money that would typically go to the bank goes to the jackpot instead. In this version, the game plays almost the same except there’s no Community Chest or Chance cards. Instead, you’ll attach Spin spaces onto those card spaces. The spinner and gameboard attachment get added to the Free Parking space on the gameboard. To the attachment, you’ll add the Free Parking Bonus cards (after giving each player two). Each player also gets two Spin chips. During gameplay, if you land on a Spin space, spin the spinner to see if you gain money or lose it. Or if you want to spin at any time, just pay one of your Spin chips to the bank. If you land by exact count on the Free Parking Space, you take a card, collect the whole Jackpot, and swap your playing token for the Deal Mobile. You can also get the Deal Mobile if you land on a Deal Mobile space. Driving the Deal Mobile gives you special perks, such as taking unowned properties for free and skipping out on paying rent. You’ll have to go back to your regular token if you go to jail or someone else gets the Deal Mobile.
When you play with the Buy Everything Expansion, everything is for sale. You can buy Free Parking, the GO space, the Bank, and even Jail. In this version, a spinning Sale Vault gets added to the center of the board with three Sale Cards inserted. The other Sale Cards get shuffled and placed next to the Vault. After you move your playing piece, you’ll roll the Buy Die. This allows you to buy one Sale Card from the Vault, force another player to discard a Sale Card, or replace one of the Sale Cards currently in the Vault. You can have up to three Sale Cards at a time, and some are single-use, which means you use them when you are ready; instant-win, which means you could end the game immediately if you complete one of these cards; and abilities, which may be used for as long as you have the card.
With the Go to Jail Expansion, going to Jail might not be so bad. This version has Super Jail and Jail gameboard attachments, plus decks of Super Corruption and Corruption cards to go with each attachment. There’s also an Escape die, a Heist die, and Go to Jail board space attachments. Each player starts with two Corruption cards, which let you get away with mischief, such as swapping properties with another player or buying any owned property for half the purchase price. You’ll earn more of these cards by going to Jail, passing the Jail space, and trading with or stealing from other players. You only get Super Corruption cards when you go to Super Jail, and these are more powerful than Corruption cards, allowing you to steal a Corruption card from each player or take $100 from each player. Chance and Community Chest become spaces for the Escape and Heist dice. Rolling these might get you more Corruption cards and money or send you to Jail. Â
