TTPM.com: Recipe for Fun

Hi! I’m Wendy from Around My Family Table. I married my high school sweetheart and we have two beautiful kids (one who has special dietary needs). My mom taught me how to cook when I was younger and when I finally left home, I was able to prepare meals instead of boxed dinners or take out. I think this is what won my husband’s heart.

I cook mostly from scratch, but do take the occasional shortcut. I grind my own grains for breads, I raise chickens for fresh eggs, I have a mini-orchard of fruit trees, and I plan on starting a garden soon. I try my best to feed my family healthy foods. On Around My Family Table, there is a weekly recipe carnival on Thursdays, a monthly Kids in the Kitchen feature and book review segments. I look forward to seeing you at my table soon!

I am always looking for easy and fun things to make with my kids. I love having a bunch of easy “recipes” that the kids can help me with on a rainy day, a bored summer afternoon, or a quiet weekend. I wanted to share two of my kids’ favorite things to make with you. With these recipes, the kids learn how to measure, cleanliness, and good kitchen habits that are needed for real cooking, but without the pressure because no one is going to eat these – however, they are totally edible!
