Make Time for Family

Everybody is busy these days, but we should all be making time to spend quality time with each other. Unfortunately, that can be easier said than done with everyone’s schedules and let’s face it: we’re all too tired at the end of the day. However, I believe that the old saying “Families that play together, stay together” is especially true today.

Here are 10 simple tips to incorporate into your family starting now:

1.) Limit television watching and internet browsing.
2.) Have dinner together at the table with no distractions at least three times per week.
3.) Take a walk around the block or jog with an older kid.
4.) Spend one on one time with each child.
5.) Play a board game or outdoor game together.
6.) Visit a zoo, aquarium, museum, library or a historical place together.
7.) Go on an evening drive–without a map!
8.) Do a service project together such as mowing an elderly neighbor’s yard for free.
9.) Find a hobby that everyone enjoys and make time to do it together.
10.) Set aside one day of the week where nothing but family time is scheduled.
