Cornhole Shootout Review

Editor's Review
Cornhole Shootout is recommended for ages 6 and up. Out of the box, you’ll need to do some easy assembly. The instructions are…mostly clear, but thankfully the parts and building process themselves are very intuitive. Our specific copy had a couple of component parts instead of fused joints as indicated in the instructions, so we were worried that the backboard would lean during play. However, this is very much not the case! The cornhole boards are taught and structurally sound!
Place the boards several yards apart, and take turns throwing the bean bags. Score one point for a bag on the board, two for a basket, three for a bag in the hole, and four for a masterful basket and hole throw! The bags have a good weight to them, making them satisfying to throw. The hoop is very lightweight, which is good in that it has give and won’t snap, but occasionally it will flip into the upright position, so just have your opponent fix it for you. Overall, we like it! It’s the familiar cornhole you know, but with an added level of optional difficulty. The extra risk-reward element makes the game all the more fun.
Ready to pack it up or move your game elsewhere? Luckily it comes with a handy carrying bag!

Should I get it?
We certainly think you should! It’s easy to set up and play in minutes, comes with a carrying bag, and it’s a novel way to play cornhole. What’s not to like?
Pros
- The materials are light, but sturdy; the best of both worlds.
- The assembly is intuitive.
- The added backboard not only stays put, but introduces a fun extra layer of strategy and challenge to the classic game.
Cons
- The only cons are that our copy had some equivalent, but technically different parts than shown in the instructions. In the instructions the joint parts are fused together, but we received component pieces.
- The hoop can occasionally flip up during play.
