Editor's Review
Add more storytime to your Storypod with new figures, audio tokens, books, and stickers. If you don’t know, a Storypod is a soft, padded speaker that interacts with iCraftie characters, books, trivia cards, and more. You can customize it with colorful sleeves and curate the content as your child grows. There’s content for kids anywhere between birth and 9. (You can view TTPM’s original review of it here.)
Some iCrafties, such as the Craftie Fox, come with built-in stories and songs. Others, such as the Happy Monster, play songs about identifying emotions and navigating big feelings. Simply place one of these iCrafties on top of your Storypod to start the music and stories. (You will need to download the free Storypod app and connect the device to wifi. And it’s rechargeable via a USB cable.)
You can also play audio content from an Audio Token. These magnetic tiles can be placed on top of the Storypod to start playing, and the Audio Token library includes everything from soundscapes to classic children’s stories, such as The Gruffalo.
To record your own story, use the Story Stickers. Record yourself (or a grandparent, for example) reading your child’s favorite story, and place that sticker on the cover of the book. Now, whenever your child chooses that book, just tap it to the Storypod to hear your recording automatically play. This can also be used with birthday cards to record a fun message or family photo albums to provide narration and share memories.
For a more traditional story experience, there are picture books that interact with the Storypod, such as Rory: Quest for the Northern Lights. Just tap the book on the Storypod and start reading along.
