Editor's Review
Parents know that reading to children helps boost literacy skills and is a wonderful addition to a bedtime routine. But what if storytime came to life in a different way? With Storypod, a child-friendly audio system, stories make learning fun and interactive.
Here’s how it works: You purchase a Storypod starter set that comes with the Storypod, an iCraftie (which is a soft yarn character), and a USB charging cable. The Storypod speaker has a soft padded exterior, 360 degrees of sound, and buttons on the top for controlling volume, playback, and interacting with the content. Once you follow the instructions to download the free Storypod app and connect the device to wifi, you’ll be able to place the iCraftie on top of the Storypod to start playing its built-in content. You’ll also be able to record your own content onto the iCraftie so that a child can listen to a loved one read to them through the device or listen to their favorite music. Through the app, parents can also turn on and off the Storypod’s bottom nightlight.
Additional Crafties plus Read-Along Audiobooks and Trivia Cards can be purchased separately for more learning content that spans ages birth to 9. There are Crafties featuring fairy tales and favorite characters, such as Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood. The content is designed to stimulate learning through age-appropriate question and answer sessions. You’ll find full track listings for each Craftie in your Storypod app once the Craftie has been added.
You can also customize your Storypod by purchasing interchangeable colored sleeves. There is also a headphone jack for quiet play.

Should I get it?
Storypod content is more than just kids sitting and listening to music and stories, although that is really fun, too. We like that the content runs the gamut of bedtime stories, get-up-and-move music, and educational trivia. Because the content is so varied, Storypod will grow with your child. This is a great way to keep kids entertained without the use of screens.
