Weekend Box Office: When Cats Attack!

Puss in Boots, the creepy tale about a cat who learns how to wear people-shoes and goes on a murder spree clawed it’s way to the number one spot at the box office over the weekend with $34 million in sales. Industry ghouls expected the movie to earn $40 million but an army of angry Death Eaters attacked the North East and scared folks from venturing out to the movies.

The documentary and totally true story, Paranormal Activity 3, dropped one spot from last weekend and landed in second with another $18.5 million screams added to it’s cauldron while the Sci-Fi thriller, In Time, starring Justin Camp Crystal-Lake, debuted in third place with $12 million. The touching tale about zombies who keep losing their feet – Footloose – gobbled up $5.4 million in brains to take 4th while the ghost of Hunter S. Thompson had a howl of a time possessing Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary, which earned a lackluster $5.4 million.
