UNO Iconic 2010s Card Game Review

Editor's Review
In honor of UNO’s 50th anniversary, Mattel is releasing five different versions of the classic card game in its Iconic Series, featuring designs inspired by each decade from the last 50 years. The 2010s card game features a color scheme of green, light blue, yellow, and a coral pink, along with hashtags, social media hearts, social media thumbs up icons, speech bubbles, and hand emojis.
Aside from the look, the game plays the same way as classic UNO: get rid of all your cards first by matching numbers, colors, or symbols. If you can’t match a card from your hand to the top card on the discard pile, you must draw a card from the draw pile. Be strategic with how you play Draw Two, Reverse, Skip, Wild, and Wild Draw 4 action cards. These change up the gameplay and can help you out while also penalizing another player. And don’t forget to yell “UNO!” when you’re down to your last card. If you don’t and you get caught, you have to add two extra cards to your hand.
Once a player has no cards left, the game is over, and that player receives points for all the cards left in his opponents’ hands. Keep playing until someone reaches 500 points!

Should I get it?
If you’re a fan of UNO, you’ll like that this is the classic gameplay but with a bit of a different look. The 2010s theme definitely captures a social media generation and will probably be most appealing to people who know what all those symbols mean. If that’s not you, then you might want to check out the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, or 2000s versions. Any would make a great collector’s item for fans of the game.
