There are brand new ways for toddlers to learn and play thanks to new learning toys from Learning Resources. The Sunshine Shape Sorter, Lock & Key Clubhouse, and Stacking Shapes Garden all help with motor and cognitive skills. All of the toys are for ages 18 months and up.

With the Sunshine Shape Sorter, kids can match the colorful rays on the sun. Removing and replacing the rays helps toddlers develop fine motor skills. Each ray is numbered one through five with different shapes on the other side to give kids a visual of those numbers. This helps with counting and putting numbers in the right order. The bottom of each ray is a different shape that only fits into the corresponding shape opening on the sun, so this helps with shape matching. And with parent participation, the toy can also be used to talk about colors. An activity guide is included to help inspire that parent-child play.

The Lock & Key Clubhouse is also all about colors and shapes. It comes with five animal figures, each one in a color that matches one of the colored doors on the Clubhouse. Each door is also numbered one through five to help with counting. The attached key on the top of the Clubhouse can be used to unlock each door, which helps with fine motor skills, and once each door is open, you can place the animal figures inside, shut the doors, and play a game of hide-and-seek. An activity guide is included with other play ideas. The handle and key storage on the top means you can bring this toy on the go.

The Stacking Shapes Garden also reinforces numbers, colors, and shapes, while helping little ones with fine motor skills. It includes a pegged puzzle base and 20 colorful shape pieces for a total of five four-piece shape puzzles. Each puzzle’s shaped pieces are also different sizes, allowing kids to stack and sort first by color and then by size. And once they have the shaped pieces stacked, they can top it off with the matching shaped vegetable garden, such as four square carrots or two rectangle onions. This set also includes a parent guide for more play ideas.
