Are you sweet or sour? Find out when you play the new Sixem Sour Patch Kids edition, a branded version of the fun dice game we reviewed earlier this year. The gameplay is essentially the same. Everyone rolls their six dice, trying to roll one of each number. You can re-roll some or all of your dice to get the numbers you need. Once one player rolls one through six, they yell “stop”, and it’s time to mark your Sour Patch Kids game boards. The player to the left of the player who yelled “stop” gets to mark first, adding one X to their board for each unique dice number they have. Then it’s the next player’s turn to mark. If you rolled a die that already matches a number on your board from a previous roll, you can choose to be sweet or sour like a Sour Patch Kid. If sour, you can erase that same X from another player’s board. If sweet, you can add that same X to another player’s board. The goal of marking these Xs is to match the pattern shown on the token, which was flipped over at the start of the game. So you might need one vertical line or two horizontal lines. The game comes with 10 pattern tokens, five player boards, 30 colorful dice, five Dry Erase markers, and rules. You can play the game with two to five players ages 13 and up.

Should I get it?

We really liked the strategy and fast pace of the original Sixem game and how easy it is to learn. This new version will be fun for players who are fans of Sour Patch Kids. It would definitely be fun to eat the candy while playing the game.
