Power Rangers Lightning Collection Mighty Morphin Power Lance Review

Editor's Review
The Power Lance is Billy the Blue Ranger’s signature weapon, and it has never looked better in toy replica form. The molded detail on the lance is clean and very crisp, with engraved ridges and designs throughout the handle and blade respectively. A bit of white paint helps the engraved panel lines pop even more. The Triceratops insignia is well sculpted, and looks even better thanks to a very clean gold molded plastic. At least, we think it’s molded, honestly it’s hard to tell whether it’s painted or bare plastic, which we mean as a huge compliment! It looks painted. This Schrodinger’s shimmer also extends to the blades, which have a transparent edge.
Track down and insert 6 AAA batteries, (3 in each end of the lance) to get started. Press the arrow on each side to activate the lights and sounds. Swing the satisfyingly weighted lance around to hear some great electric whirring and slashing noises. As you swing, the transparent edges light up. If you’d rather dual wield, simply twist, pull apart, and extend the handles for even more play options. If you hold the button for 2 seconds, the lance will enter “display mode” with pulsing lights and no sound. Use the included base in either mode to display the lance in all its glory. In contrast to the excellence of the lance, the base is a bit plain by comparison, although the Ranger relief is nice looking.
