The LEGO Ford F-150 Raptor is 1379 pieces and will take you 3 to 4 hours to fully build. The build is fun, but as is standard with complex Technic sets, the instructions can get visually busy. The completed Truck is a feast for the eyes, containing visual detail in every nook and cranny. Stickers account for cosmetic detail on the front grill, front and rear lights, and dashboard. It’s just enough to not be overpowering, and still let the object itself shine. Comparing to photographs, this matches a Ford F-150 Raptor faithfully.

Play features include steering via a dial on the roof, working suspension, adjustable seats, opening front and back doors, an opening trunk door, and pistons in the engine that move when the back tires roll. It can be easy to accidentally unplug the steering dial, but it’s simple enough to plug it back in. The orange panels and bricks come together to make a very pleasing shape, especially on the hood. Turn the truck over and you’ll see a fully fleshed out undercarriage, an area oft neglected in other building toys.

Should I get it?

The build and final product are very fun. There are a perfect amount of features in the finished set, and it looks good just sitting there on a shelf.
