These two sets are similar in more ways than just one. Sure they share a franchise, but they also sport big bots! Both Hydra Stomper and Sakaarian Iron Man feature similar articulation points once built. They have great shoulder movement, movement and rotation at the hips, and Hydra Stomper has elbow articulation. Both have opening cockpits to place minifigs inside. This feature is implemented very well in both sets, and it’s actually a very nice play mechanic. Hydra Stomper features stud launchers, while the Sakaarian Iron Man suit has a transforming gimmick! Well, “partsforming,” really, Transformers fans will know what I’m saying. You can convert from a bipedal suit of armor, to a race car! This is a great feature, very cleverly pulled off. Converting between suit and car is both fun and easy.

The Hydra Stomper comes with minifigs of Captain Carter, Red Skull with Tesseract, and Hydra Stomper pilot Steve Rogers. Meanwhile, the Sakaarian Iron Man set includes Tony, Valkyrie, and the Watcher.

Should I get it?

Both sets are lots of fun! The visual detailing is excellent, and these constructions capture the power of the mechs, and the charm of the characters from the Marvel universe wonderfully.
