Kids can explore the world of LEGO City and help save the day with a series of new LEGO City firefighter sets. Fire Ladder Truck, Fire Rescue Helicopter, and Fire Command Unit feature minifigure characters from the LEGO City TV series as well as realistic vehicles with moving parts.

The largest set is the Fire Command Unit, model number 60282. It has 380 pieces for building a fire truck with a functioning cherry picker arm. There’s also a water cannon that shoots plastic water elements, and a science lab that’s on fire with stackable LEGO flames. There’s also a launch feature for the lab. This set includes four minifigures, but only Feldman and Bob are named.

Fire Rescue Helicopter, model number 60281, includes 212 pieces for building a helicopter, motorbike, and power plant that’s ablaze with stackable LEGO flames. The helicopter has water cannons to knock out the fire, along with a variety of accessories for the three minifigures. Clemmons from the LEGO City TV series is the only named minifigure in this set.

The smallest set is Fire Ladder Truck, model number 60280, and this is also for the younger builder. It comes with 88 pieces for building a fire truck with a raisable ladder, which has an attached water extinguisher at the end. Along with some accessories and stackable LEGO flames, kids also build a fire hydrant with a hose. Two minifigures are included, but only Freya McCloud is named.

Should I get it?

For kids who love firetrucks and the excitement of rescue vehicles, these LEGO sets will be a lot of fun to build. Kids will like the moving parts of the vehicles and trying to knock down the stackable flames with the water projectiles. These sets give kids the scene but then encourage kids to tell the story.
