Editor's Review
Take your best shot with Hypershot, an electronic tabletop hockey game. There are five game modes: two head-to-head and one solo. You will need three AA batteries, which are not included. What is included is the light-up game unit (some assembly required) and two plastic pucks. To play the games, you’ll slide your puck underneath the game device, but the rubber band on the bottom bounces it back to you. You’re trying to slide the puck so that it hits whatever light is showing on the game unit. Depending on the game mode, you’re either aiming for the blue lights or the red lights, trying to capture all the lights before your opponent. The solo mode is a training mode so you can practice your puck-slinging skills. The game is for one to two players ages 8 and up. It has two levels of volume.

Should I get it?
While we wish some of the instructions had been clearer, once we got the hang of playing the game, it was definitely fast-paced fun. It’s got music and lights that make the gameplay exciting. It reminds us of playing air hockey but without the need for a large gaming table. This one is small enough to play on a dining room table, and it folds into a smaller size for storage or portability, although sliding the sides of the game unit in and out is hard to do. Once it’s assembled, you’ll probably just leave it that way.
