OVERALL EDITOR'S RATING:
What It Is

Recreate some of your favorite moments from the Minions: Rise of Gru movie with Mattel's collection of Movie Moments playsets based on the film.

In Mixed-Up Minions, Kevin gets stuck in a rotating cement mixer while paving a roadway with Stuart. The set includes both Kevin and Stuart figures that are very poseable, and each figure has a hard hat to wear and can hold the two included tools. The roadway is made of a soft and squishy material, so if you press the figures down onto it, they'll leave behind footprints - for just a second or two. With Kevin's arms straight up, you can insert him into the cement mixer and give it a spin by turning the handle. Press the handle in to topple Kevin out.

Another playset is Pedal Power Gru, which comes with Gru and Minion Stuart figures. Both figures are poseable so that either one can sit behind the wheel of Gru's monstrous silver motorcycle. There's also space for a Minion to ride in the basket up front or hold on to the back. Then kick up the kickstand and push it along on its rolling wheels.

The third set is Martial Arts Minions, and poseable Stuart and Bob figures come in this set. Both of them are wearing yellow tracksuits with black stripes down the side, and there's a variety of swappable sparring gear for the Minions to hold. They can practice their moves by fighting with the bobbling training dummy, which has Bob's teddy bear on top.

Is It Fun?

For kids who are fans of the new movie - or any Minions movie, for that matter - these playsets will be a fun way to bring the silliness of the movie to life while allowing kids to make up their own Minions mayhem.

Who It’s For

These playsets are for ages 4 and up, and will be fun for fans of the movie.

What To Be Aware Of

The Mixed-Up Minions cement mixer does not work with all Minions figures.
