Lawrence Fishburne has joined the cast of the new Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception) Superman reboot movie, Man of Steel. Fishburne will take on the role of Perry White, editor in chief of The Daily Planet. I’m having a hard time picturing the frequently phlegmatic Fishburne playing a character who has always been depicted as an over-the-top, ball of energy but maybe the idea is to bring something dull new to the character.
Hot on the heels of this casting news, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures released the first look at Henry Cavill as Superman. Here is the picture.
Man of Steel, directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) has already cast Henry Cavill (Clark Kent), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Kevin Costner (Pa Kent) and Michael Shannon (Zod). The movie is scheduled for release in 2013.
