Cobie Smulders from the TV show, How I Met Your Mother, has confirmed the reports that she joined the cast of The Avengers movie. Cobie will play Maria Hill in Joss Whedon’s star-studded, comic book movie due in 2012.
The movie unites popular Marvel Comics characters, including Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor and more, who form the group, The Avengers, to battle a powerful enemy. Other actors currently on board include Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Clark Gregg.
