Cameron Diaz and her new comedy, The Other Woman, did what numerous new releases couldn’t – bumped Captain America: The Winter Soldier from the #1 spot.
After three weekends in a row at #1, Captain America finally slid to #2 with $16.0 million earned in it’s 4th weekend. The movie has now earned $224.9 million, which is more than all past Captain America, Hulk, and Thor movies. The movie also became the highest-grossing film to ever open in April.
Marvel will undoubtedly reclaim the #1 spot this weekend when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens. Spidey has already earned over $134 million overseas, so it’s bound to snare a huge opening weekend in the states as well.
TTPM has been reviewing the toys from both Marvel movies. You can see our Captain America reviews here and Spider-Man 2 reviews here.
