Give kids a realistic parenting experience with Baby Born My Real Baby Ava. There are more than 10 ways to nurture this interactive baby doll.

First, the doll comes wearing a romper, cap, and shoes. Accessories include a pacifier, bottle, and diaper. Turn on the doll (three AA batteries are not included), and you’ll hear happy baby noises. Sometimes the doll starts crying, and you’ll need to try patting its back or giving the doll her pacifier. You can also soothe the doll by stroking its cheek in an upward motion and feeding her the bottle. When the pacifier or bottle are in the doll’s mouth, you’ll hear sucking sounds and see realistic mouth movements.

The bottle can be used with or without water. If you fill it with water, you can squeeze the water into the doll’s mouth and two things can happen. When the doll starts crying, real tears will fall from its eyes. Or you can put the diaper onto the doll, and press the heart button on its tummy to make the doll go potty. The diaper is reusable – just make sure you air dry it before reusing.

The doll’s eyes open and close throughout the play. If you lie the doll horizontally and rock it in your arms, its eyes will close, and the doll will start to sigh, yawn, or cry before going to sleep.

There are three versions of the doll, each with a different skin tone and name, and each is sold separately.

Should I get it?

This is a cute baby doll that will inspire a lot of imaginative play. The sounds and movement bring the doll to life and enhance the nurturing roleplay.

We do wish that squeezing water from the bottle into the doll’s mouth was easier. An adult may have to help with this. And just be aware that when water is added, the play does get messy. But it’s nice to have the option to play without water.

Pros

Sounds and movement bring doll to life
Really cries and wets
Inspires imaginative play

Cons

Batteries are not included
Hard to squeeze water into doll
Adding water makes play messy
