Editor's Review
Complete the perfect pizza when you play the Pete the Cat Pizza Pie Game. This is a cooperative game that requires no reading. Players get to play as one of four characters, placing their character pawn on the matching Start space in the corners of the gameboard. Then take turns spinning the spinner and moving the number of spaces spun. if you land on a green space, you take the number of toppings shown and chant “It’s a party, a party, a pizza party!”, including the toppings that you collected into your chant. If you land on a red space, you must return that number of toppings to the game box. And if you land on a pizza space, you get to select any two toppings from the game box and give them to another player. On any turn, if you have five or more toppings in front of you, perform the Pizza Party chant, and place all of these pieces anywhere on the game board pizza. Once all the toppings have been placed on the game board pizza, everybody wins.
The game is for two to four players ages 3 and up. It comes with a game board, four character pawns, 40 pizza toppings, and a spinner.

Should I get it?
Overall, the game is easy to learn and helps preschoolers practice counting. The pizza toppings vary from traditional (pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms) to wacky (socks, baked beans, blueberries). Those wacky ones will certainly be humorous for little kids, especially Pete the Cat fans who have read the Perfect Pizza Party book. For some reason, there are seven cupcake toppings, but only one of each other kind of topping, so we’re not sure if the cupcakes are actually supposed to mean something or if they just ran out of topping ideas. If you wanted to level up the game, perhaps you could create your own rules to add a little more strategy to the gameplay.
