You’ve got to think fast when you play Pik Qwik. This word game comes with 144 tiles that get placed letter side up in the middle of the playing space. The 96 Pik Qwik cards get shuffled and placed in a pile face down in the middle. The first player flips over the top card from the pile to reveal a category and a word. There are four categories. If you see Same Name, try to be the first player to spell out a word that means the same thing as the word on the card. If it’s Mix Up, create a word using the letters from the word on the card. On Topic means you spell out a word that fits under the card’s topic. And if you see Rhyme Around, be the first to spell a word that rhymes with the word on the card. The first player to create a word must hit the buzzer when they’re done, and then collect the card. After 20 cards are played, players count the cards they have collected, and the person with the most wins.

There is an alternate way to play using only two of the category cards if you want more of a challenge.

You’ll need two to four players ages 8 and up. The game comes with a Pik Qwik container, a buzzer, 96 cards, 144 tiles, and instructions. The game buzzer comes with two button cell batteries.

Should I get it?

This word game challenges your vocabulary and speed. We like that there are four different categories and that you can play 20 cards or keep going for a longer game. And everything is stored nicely inside the game’s plastic container, making it easy to take on the go. If you’re a fan of word games, then you’ll like the challenge of Pik Qwik.
