No screens, no batteries, no rules. That’s the beauty of Babai Toys’ wooden toys. The Magnetic Fishing Game Geometric Fishes and Wooden Balancing Game Creative Balancer Color are eco-friendly wooden toys with many ways to play.
The Magnetic Fishing Game Geometric Fishes is perfect for one to two players with two rods, 12 shaped fish, and a cotton bag. All the pieces are made from birch plywood with a natural wood color. Each fish is a different shape, as labeled on the package, from a triangle and square to a semicircle and pentagon. To play, you just hold one of the rods over the fish shapes and use the magnet at the end of the rod’s cord to “catch” a fish. Each fish has one or two magnetic eyes that will stick to the fishing rod. Simply pretend to fish or use your imaginations to tell fish stories, or use this set as a way to practice shape recognition and counting.
The 32 ashwood pieces inside the Creative Balancer game’s cotton bag can be played with in so many ways with one to six players. You’ll see a lot of suggestions on the packaging, from a stacking game to solo stress relief and just a plain old building set. One of the games we liked best was to set up the half-circle base like a bowl and one by one stack the smaller pieces inside the bowl to see how far we could get before the bowl tipped or toppled over. It was also fun to arrange the pieces to look like a face or other object.

Should I get it?
Geometric Fishes will be great for parent-child play, especially when it comes to promoting the toy’s educational benefits, while Creative Balancer definitely has more of a game feel, making it perfect for kids, teens, and adults to play together. We like that there are many ways to play with both sets and that there aren’t specific rules on how to play. Just use your imagination and play however you want.
