Are you having trouble keeping tabs on the app content your kids are downloading? The ESRB has an app to help you. ESRB, the non-profit organization that rates video games, now offers a rating system for apps and digital games.
It covers games and apps that share personal information, shares locations with others as well as users that interact, communicate, or share media such as photos. The updated free ESRB Rating App is now available for iOS, Android, and Windows phones and now features:
- Interactive Elements icons for digitally delivered games and apps so parents can easily identify if the game “Shares Location,” “Shares Info,” or if “Users Interact”
- Expanded search filters for finding games by a specific rating, content type, or platform
- Access to Rating Summaries for packaged games, which provide a detailed yet straightforward explanation of the content that factored into a game’s rating
- A new version designed for iPad and Android tablets
For more information, the ESRB has provided this video.
