What It Is

What It Is

Orbo is a snap and match, handheld puzzle game. The Orbo sphere is about the size of a baseball, but much lighter. Around the sphere are holes marked on the outside with colored rings, and there are colored balls inside. Players must put their fingers through the holes on the outside and push the smaller balls around the inside of the sphere. The foam center allows players to move the smaller balls from hole to hole. Move all the balls around so that the colored balls match the colored rings to solve the puzzle. Orbo can be played solo or with other people. Orbo is sort of like a Rubik's Cube. There's a strategy to solving it, and it may take time and patience to figure it out.

Why It’s Fun

For kids who like solving puzzles, Orbo is a lot of fun. The puzzle and the small balls are easy to manipulate and can be played with in a variety of ways. Set a timer to see who can solve Orbo the fastest or try to beat your own record time. There are no pieces to lose, which makes Orbo a great on-the-go game.

The tactile nature of the puzzle and the variety of ways it can be played with all contribute to the classic fun.

Who It’s For

Orbo is for ages 4 and up. Older kids and experienced puzzlers may find Orbo to be too easy, but we think it's great for the younger set, especially as an introduction to puzzlers and brainteasers.

What to Be Aware of

The balls make a loud clicking noise when they are moved. This helps them to snap securely into each of the holes, but you might want to refrain from playing Orbo in areas where it is supposed to remain quiet, lest you annoy the person sitting next to you.
