What It Is

In 1939, Ludwig Bemelman's story about a little French girl captivated children, and Madeline has become one of the most enduring and popular characters in children's literature. This year, children will be heard saying "merci beaucoup" as they wrap their arms around soft versions of that precocious Parisian redhead.

The 70th Anniversary Madeline is a great collector's item for those who grew up reading the Madeline books, as well as a soft friend for the new generation of Madeline fans. The doll comes packaged in a see-through can bag with a pink rope handle.

The 13.5-inch doll wears a delft blue dress adorned with famous Parisian locales from the original book. Madeline's beautiful red hair is tied on one side with a satiny blue bow and her lace-trimmed dress features blue accents. With a bright smile, this soft, poseable doll is sure to be a treasured doll-and a keepsake.

Girls will have fun with Dressable Madeline. Packaged in a see-through can bag with a white rope handle, Dressable Madeline wears her signature blue school coat and yellow hat. No detail has been spared on this 13.5-inch doll from her lace anklet socks and black striped lapels to her black coat buttons.
