Weekend Box Office: Expendables Extends Its Eminence

The weekend’s three new movies, The Apparition, Hit and Run and Premium Rush didn’t come close to budging The Expendables 2 from the top of the list. In fact, of the three new movies, one didn’t even make it into the Top 10 with The Apparition earning less than $3 million and landing at #12. Premium Rush faired the best with $6.3 million and the #7 spot while Hit and Run narrowly beat out Sparkle for the #10 spot.

The Top 10 List stayed the same as last week for the second, third, fourth place movies but The Dark Knight Rises rose one spot of the list and moved from 6th to 5th. The final instalment of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy has now earned more than $422 million (domestic) and is ranked #11 on the highest grossing movies of all time list.
