Happy Thanks-Gaming

My family is scattered across the country so we rarely get together to celebrate Thanksgiving together (we make up for it at Christmas). Instead, I get together every year with some great friends, several of who happen to be fellow gamers, for a long weekend of food and fun. I’ve got a stack of games waiting to be played over the holiday weekend and I can’t wait to dig in.

Here are a few of the games me and my friends will be playing (when not eating).

Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii. Rated Everyone)
“Inspired by earlier games in the Donkey Kong Country series, Donkey Kong Country Returns is a new take on a beloved Nintendo franchise. The first Donkey Kong Country game developed for play for Wii, this new iteration blends familiar actions, levels and characters with a whole new graphical treatment and feel, as well as new control schemes and play options.”

Tony Hawk Shred (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii. Rated Everyone)
“Experience some of the biggest air and tricks seen in an action sports video game. Tony Hawk: SHRED’s motion sensing skateboard/ snowboard allows players to control the action with their feet to perform amazing tricks in the game. It’s time to SHRED.”

Dance Central (Xbox Kinect. Rated Teen)
“Dance Central, exclusively for “Kinect” for Xbox 360, is the first real dance game experience that is fun, social and for everyone! Brought to you by Harmonix, the developers who created the world-wide blockbuster Rock Band, Dance Central is the first immersive dance video game that features and tracks full-body dance moves.”

TV Superstars (PS3 Move. Rated Everyone)
“TV Superstars is a social/party game for PlayStation 3 that uses the PlayStation Move motion controller and the PlayStation Eye camera peripheral* to make you the star of five interactive TV shows.”

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 (PS, Xbox. Rated Teen)
“The popular Dragon Ball Z fighter returns with even more fast-paced, hard-hitting versus battle action! Feel the destructive power of your bone-crushing blows with tons of Super Attacks at your command, special effects that highlight the moment of impact and destructible environments that sustain massive damage as the battle progresses.”

Game Party In Motion (Xbox Kinect. Rated Everyone)
“Game Party is now BIGGER, BETTER and MORE FUN than ever before on Kinect for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Game Party: In Motion brings everyone’s favorite party games directly into their living room and with no controller required players can jump right into the fun.”

Disney Sing It: Party Hits (Wii. Rated Everyone)
“Disney Sing It Party Hits, the next game in the video-based karaoke video game franchise from Disney Interactive Studios, will feature songs and music videos from fan favorites including Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Black Eyed Peas, Jordin Sparks, Nick Jonas & The Administration, Paramore, Kelly Clarkson and more.”

I’ll let you know how these games are next week. In the meantime, what about you? Do you have any games on your list for the holiday weekend?
