Remember how disappointed everyone was when Star Wars: The Clone Wars was suddenly cancelled? Well it looks like Disney is making up for that with the creation of the latest series in the Star Wars saga, Star Wars Rebels.

Rebels, a CGI animated series, takes place in the period between the movies, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. The recently formed Galactic Empire is tightening it’s grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedis. At the same time, a small band of rebels are organizing and fighting back against the Empire.

Rebels, produced by Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm Animation, brings back a lot of the creative team behind Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The series will bridge the original trilogy and the prequels, which should please parents, who grew up with the original trilogy, and their kids who loved The Clone Wars. The new series is planned to debut in the Fall of 2014 with a one-hour episode on the Disney Channel. It will then move to Disney XD.

Lucasfilm recently released a series of images for rebels. The images are Imperial propaganda postcards, and we have a few of them for you to check out below.
