Editor's Review
It’s been four years since TTPM reviewed the original Yoto player, a screen-free entertainment system for kids. The device is now in its third generation, and we’re going to take a look at it in today’s review.
The device comes with a USB-C charging cable and a Make Your Own card, which we’ll get to in a second. You do need to download the free app and connect the device to your home’s wifi in order to use this.
When you’re ready to play, just insert a card into the top of the player. The always-expanding library of content includes Beatles Songs by Capsar Babypants, Disney/Pixar’s Ratatouille: A Junior Novel, and BrainBots Wildlife Defenders. You can even get the Starter Pack, which comes with seven cards with stories, first words, music, and more. You’ll also find other content within the app, such as sleep sounds, podcasts, radio, timers, and more. And if you have a Make Your Own card, you can record your own stories or link favorite MP3s.
For more functionality, parents can use the app to check the room temperature, set alarms, change the ambient light colors, use the device as a nightlight, and connect the Yoto to Bluetooth. And any cards you’ve played on your Yoto automatically get downloaded to the app (when connected to wifi) so that you can access them from anywhere. In fact, the majority of listening can be done without wifi, which means you can take your Yoto with you wherever you go. Yoto can store more than 600 hours of audio for offline listening.
The two buttons on top of the Yoto player help you navigate forward and backward between tracks and adjust the volume.
Here are some other quick stats: It has 32 GB of internal memory. You’ll get up to 24 hours of play on a single charge. There’s also a headphone jack on the side.

There’s a vast content library, so kids can use this to listen to audiobooks, favorite songs, podcasts, and more. Parents will also like that it functions as an alarm clock and nightlight. It’s a very versatile audio system that is easy for kids and adults to use.
