Editor's Review
Get ready to enjoy Yahtzee at any age with Yahtzee Slots, a new game from Ageless Innovation that’s geared toward older adults. As the name of the game suggests, it comes with a slot machine that functions as a dice roller and a slot machine for use in any of the three game variations. No batteries required. There are also oversized instructions and score sheets that are easier for older adults to read.Â
You can play classic Yahtzee by simply using the slot machine as a dice roller, or you can incorporate the slot machine for Yahtzee Slots and Dice Drop games. Spinning the slot machine gives you a chance to enhance your turn. First, you drop the five dice into the top of the slot machine. Then you pull the lever to spin the slots. If the three icons showing do not match, simply press the button to drop the dice into the tray. From there, you can do up to two more spins and dice drops, trying to get a combination of dice that you want along with three matched icons on the slot machine. If you spin three matching icons, you might score a Yahtzee, a 35-point Bonus, or an extra spin/dice drop. You might also lose your turn. Dice scoring is the same as in classic Yahtzee. Once each player has filled in all 13 category boxes, the game ends, and the player with the highest grand total wins.
The Dice Drop game is a faster version, where you drop the dice, choose one die to keep, and pull the lever to spin the slot machine. If none of the icons match, your score is the value of the die you chose. If any two icons match, multiply your die by two, and that’s your score. If all three icons match, multiply your die by three, and that’s your score. After a set number of rounds, the player with the highest score wins.Â
The game is for one or more players ages 8 and up.Â

Should I get it?
This is a really interesting new spin on a classic game. We like that the classic gameplay is still there, but you can enhance it with the slot machine. And three game versions to play offers nice variety depending on how much time you have or what kind of game you want to play. It is designed to be easier for older adults to play, but it’s something that everyone in the family can play together.Â
