The Micro Magical Moments line consists of tiny little statues just over an inch in height, and heavily stylized to be as adorable as possible. Dotted eyes, button noses, and chibi proportions, the verdict is in folks, they’re cute alright! But of course, the other half of the Micro Magical Moments equation is actually the display box. The packaging itself is nice enough, but inside is another box made of transparent plastic, gilded by an ornate, pearlescent gold frame. The front of the box is a hinged door that you can open and close, and the back has a sturdy card stock backdrop that is reversible. Each figure also has a tiny stand, so with all of these elements combined, you can make your own micro displays, and even change them easily thanks to the door and reversible backdrop. Each set represents a specific moment in the first year of the Harry Potter story, with Dudley, Harry, and Hagrid clearly reenacting the beginning of the story when Harry gets invited to Hogwarts, Harry, Ron, and Hedwig showing the train car scene where Harry and Ron first meet, and the Hermione, Ron, Harry, and Fluffy set obviously represents the third act of the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Micro Magical Moments also come in mystery boxes, which are as exciting and cool as they are frustrating, due to the possibility of obtaining duplicates.  The more you have, the more you can stack and customize to create your own unique display!

Should I get it?

This idea is very novel: miniature figures, a display case, and a diorama, all in one! We can’t recommend them enough for the Harry Potter fandom.

Pros

  • The sculpt and paint are very well done.
  • The figures are mondo cute.
  • You have a lot of control over how you display them, thanks to the versatile display case.

Cons

  • Some figures are locked behind mystery boxes, so there is always a danger of obtaining duplicates if you aim for a complete set.
