Have you ever wondered what a dinosaur tastes like? Well, if you’re making edible dinosaurs with the Tasty Labs Dinosaur Gummy Candy Lab, your gummy dinos will taste like mixed berry and watermelon. And while you’re making gummy dinosaurs in eight different dinosaur shapes, you’ll also learn about the science of gelatinous materials and experiment with the gummies.

The kit includes a packet of sour mixture, two packets of mixed berry gummy candy mix, two packets of watermelon gummy candy mix, a plastic gummy candy mold, four plastic storage bags, and a sticker sheet for labeling the bags. While the ingredients do not contain allergens, some are processed in facilities that also process allergens.

With adult supervision, follow the instructions to make your gummy candy, read about the real dinosaurs behind the gummy mold shapes, and then experiment with the gummy candy. There are four experiments to help kids learn about the phases of matter, detecting acids and bases, and more. Oh, and you can also eat your gummy candy.

Should I get it?

This is a tasty STEM toy. Kids ages 6 and up who like dinosaurs and candy will have fun making candy of their own and getting curious with it through the experiments. The gummy candy turns out really well and tastes pretty good. (I thought it was a little watered down berry flavor, but my 8-year-old ate all of them with no complaints.) The best part is that one bag of mix makes a whole tray of gummies, and you only need about four gummies to do the experiments, so that leaves a lot for eating. Then, with three bags of flavor mix left, you can make and experiment with even more gummies!

Pros

4 flavor mixes to make 4 batches
