Monster High 2022 Dolls Review

Get excited, boys and ghouls, because Monster High is back! The live-action Monster High: The Movie, releasing in October, has inspired all-new looks for your favorite characters. The new doll lineup includes Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, Cleo de Nile, Lagoona Blue, and Deuce Gorgon. While the overall look of the dolls is similar to what you might remember, the characters have new fashions and accessories. And the back of each box tells you more about the characters in case you’re new to Monster High.

Draculaura is the daughter of Dracula, and something we like about this doll is that it features a different body type from the rest. Draculaura is a little bigger in the waist and thighs, and we’re okay with that! The doll wears a pink-and-black ensemble featuring hearts and bats. Along with her coffin phone, she comes with a water bottle, sunglasses, a cool cape, and her pet bat, Count Fabulous. Other accessories are included.

Lagoona Blue, the sea monster, wears a fish-inspired ensemble of tie-dye shorts, pink top with mesh sleeves, and shark mouth fanny pack. The doll has fins on her arms and translucent blue legs. Along with some fun accessories, such as a coffin phone, water bottle, and swimsuit, Lagoona also includes her pet piranha, Neptuna.

Frankie Stein is the daughter of Frankenstein and has an electric look, from her lighting bolt earrings to the stitches on her legs and arms. She wears a plaid skirt and a sweater vest over a white blouse. You’ll notice that one of her legs looks like it’s part metal. Frankie comes with a coffin phone, monster purse, and letter jacket, among other accessories, plus her pet dog Watzie. (Watzie’s name used to be Watzit in the original series.)

Clawdeen Wolf, daughter of the werewolf, wears denim animal print overalls with a moon-patterned shirt underneath. Even her purple boots have werewolf fangs on them. She, too, comes with a coffin phone, a furry jacket, glasses, and other fun accessories. And this doll includes her pet cat, Crescent.

Next up is Cleo de Nile, who is a “fab-boo-lous” mummy. Cleo’s fashion is totally Egyptian-inspired with knee-high boots that look like they’re wrapped up in mummy fabric, and a blue-and-gold dress with wrapped sleeves. Cleo has a coffin phone, a water bottle that looks like an Egyptian urn, and a cool pyramid-shaped backpack, among other things. And the doll includes her pet, Tut. Because Cleo’s pet used to be a snake named Hissette, we are not familiar with Tut and don’t totally know what kind of pet Tut is.

And last in the lineup is Deuce Gorgon, who is a Gorgon. Deuce has green plastic snakes for hair and wears a snake graphic Tee underneath a snake-print jacket. He wears black pants and sneakers with a snake face on them. Like all the other dolls, he comes with a coffin phone and lots of accessories, such as sunglasses, a container of wax, and a water bottle. His pet figure is a rat named Perseus.
