You’ve seen the movie. Now play the game! Monopoly The Super Mario Galaxy Movie edition is suited for two to six players ages 8 and up. In this version, kids play as Mario’s hat, Luigi’s hat, a Luma, a Yoshi egg, Princess Peach’s umbrella, or Toad’s headlamp, buying locations from the movie, collecting Lumas, and looking out for Bowser Jr. The gameplay is similar to traditional Monopoly, except in this version, not only do you move your game piece around the board, you’ve also got to roll a die to move Bowser Jr. And if Bowser Jr. passes or ends his move on a space occupied by another player, he stops on that space and a battle ensues. To battle, roll the black die (Bowser’s die) and the red die (player’s die). If the red die is the same as or higher than the number on the black die, the player wins. That player collects two coins from the bank and places Bowser Jr. on GO, where he stays until all players have taken a turn. However, if the black die is higher than the red die, Bowser wins, and the losing player goes directly to jail. Also in this game, you’re playing with coins instead of traditional Monopoly money, and you earn four coins plus one Luma each time you land on or pass Go. Collecting Lumas along the way equals a certain number of coins awarded to you at game’s end. Obviously, you want to be the player with the most money at the end.
