Tell your own stories and make your own book with the 3D Tunnel Book Butterflies & Dragonflies. This 5×7 book-making kit also comes in other themes, and each one includes a water brush pen, eight water color crayons, four sturdy cardstock pages with punch-out mini creatures, two metal D-rings to assemble the book pages, and glue dots. This is called a tunnel book because the pages of the book have layered, punch-out panels that act as the tunnel, so you can see through the first page and onto the second page, which lets you see through to the third page, and so on. Now, the box says that step-by-step instructions are included, but our kit did not have any. But we’ve made one of these before, so we can still tell you how it’s done.

The first step is to color or paint your pages and punch-out creatures. You can fill the water brush pen with water, and once you’ve colored something with the water color crayons, brush over it with the water pen. Or use any art supplies you already own. Once your pieces are colored and dry, you can start assembling your book. Then attach the pieces, which consist of butterflies, dragonflies, and flowers in this kit, to the book pages in any way you like using the glue dots. Finally, insert the metal D-rings through the holes in the pages to bind them together and turn the whole thing into a book. Get creative—maybe you’ll add words to your pages to create a story or poem. Maybe you’ll add stickers or other items from your craft stash.
