The Mercedez-Benz Zetros Trial Truck is 2129 pieces, so this will take you a while to build. It’s split into 6 bags and or phases though, so that helps. Once built, the look is pretty cool! Detailing on the hood, bumpers, and grill are all neat to admire. It features opening doors, an opening hood, pose-able windshield wipers, and a flap that opens to reveal drive shaft mechanics. The hood hinge feels a little loose, but it’s not a big deal. What might take you by surprise is that this truck doesn’t roll. Maybe this is to be expected from a LEGO Technic set in the shape of a truck, but our reviewer expected it to roll manually.

After inserting 6 AA batteries (not included) and downloading the LEGO Technic Control + app, press the green button, and follow the prompts on your phone to connect. Hopefully you inserted the batteries before construction, because it’s easy to disconnect bricks while trying to remove the battery case. Once connected, you can begin driving around and…it’s a bit slow. We weren’t expecting breakneck speeds or anything like that, but the speed is nevertheless slightly underwhelming. However, this is not where the set is meant to shine. Place it on rugged terrain, and it’ll drive like a champ! The set boasts working suspension, and it delivers! Also, it has a steep slope mode, which enables it to climb extremely steep inclines. It really is quite impressive, to give full credit where it is due. Overall, the app functionality is responsive and works perfectly with no issues whatsoever!

Should I get it?

This set is fun to build, and use to off-road and climb inclines in the app. It leaves a bit to be desired in terms of appearance, flat-surface driving, and visual gimmicks.
