If you’ve got an aspiring artist in your house, then he or she might like new I Heart Art Mash-Up Art Packs. The packs come with the tools kids need to create multimedia art.
The Pastel FX pack includes 24 oil pastels, 24 chalk pastels, a peelable wax pencil, a blending stick, a 25-page art pad, and a Techniques Guide. The guide shows kids how to mix and blend using all the different media, gives them practice space for blending, walks them though drawing an apple, and then encourages them to experiment and try new things.
The Watercolor Blends + Ink pack includes 10 fine line pens, eight watercolor pastels, a water brush pen, a 25-page art pad, and a Techniques Guide. The guide shows kids how to mix and blend colors and create different effects, add dimension and texture with the fine line pens, and gives kids space to practice before guiding them through drawing and coloring in a watermelon.

Should I get it?
These Mash-Up Art Packs have a really sophisticated look, making young artists feel grownup with their own tools packed away inside the colorful portfolio. Some of the instructions might be a bit advanced for typical 6-year-olds, and even with adult help, some frustration may occur. We do think that if kids are able to use the tools in these kits however they want, it will inspire a lot of creativity.
