Editor's Review
Get ready to race with some of your favorite Hot Wheels Monster Trucks thanks to two action-packed Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Power Smashers toys.
An oversized Skelesaurus and a 1:64-scale Bone Shaker face off in the Charge & Chase Challenge track set. Along with the monster trucks, there are two flattened car accessories that can be placed in various points on the side of the track. Load the trucks at the top of the track, and push the lever to start the race. The cars will spin through the loop, but only one car can win, knocking over the loop and the slower car. Reset the loop to race again. This playset is 46 inches across, but it can easily be reconfigured for storage, complete with spaces to store both vehicles.
The legendary Hot Wheels Monster Truck Mega Wrex comes to life in 1:15 scale with the HW Mega Wrex Alive RC. With interactive lights and sounds, plus three modes of play, kids can be in control of this dinosaur-themed monster truck. In Hunt Mode, you can drive the car, make it roar, and smash the front of the truck to charge up its “rage meter” until its eyes and teeth flash red. When this happens, now the truck is in Smasher Mode, which unleashes extra speed and sounds. Press the stunt button in this mode to make the truck smash, or press and hold the stunt button to make the truck perform a wheelie. This does have volume control, and the remote can be stored under the vehicle. While the truck runs on a rechargeable battery (a USB charging cord is included), the remote needs two AAA batteries, which are not included.
