Drop Trivia is a new, electronic twist on Trivial Pursuit. The centerpiece of the game is the tower in which you insert six colored pucks. The object is to insert the pucks in the correct order to score the most points. You’ll need three AAA batteries, which are not included. Playing in two teams, you’ll press the start button on the tower to begin the first round. Draw one of the 60 game cards, insert it into the tower’s top slot, and read the topic, top and bottom labels, and six scrambled answers aloud. Don’t peek at the answers located upside down on the back of the card! The tower knows which card you’re playing when you drop the colored pucks shown at the top of the card into the tower. Once the tower recognizes the card, you can release those pucks and begin playing. You’re going to drop the pucks into the tower based on what you think is the correct order of answers. So you might have to guess the oldest politician to the youngest, or oldest invention to newest. Once all the pucks have been dropped, the tower scores your answers. A “ding” means the puck is in the right spot, and your team scores a point. A “buzz” means that answer is wrong. If any answers were incorrect, the other team gets a chance to drop the pucks and score points. If any of their answers are incorrect, the first team gets one more chance. Then the round ends. You’ll play four rounds like this, and then the tower will announce the winning team.

There is also a solo mode activated by pressing and holding the Start button for three seconds. In this mode, you’ll follow the same steps of play, but you’ll only play three rounds as you challenge your own trivia knowledge.

Should I get it?

This is a fun and fast-paced game for trivia lovers. Yes, we do wish the game unit had volume control, but we appreciated how the game tests your general knowledge and memory skills. Remember which pucks the other team got right or wrong so that you can play off of those answers when it’s your team’s turn.

Pros

Electronic game unit keeps track of answers & scores
60 double-sided trivia cards
Fast-paced test of knowledge & memory
