Zurg’s Mothership is 20 inches from bow to stern, and looks very sharp. It’s super pointy, with menacing fins exploding off of the back and drawing your eye toward the thrusters in the rear, which are molded in translucent cloudy green plastic. Don’t worry though, the fins have blunted ends. The molded detail on this toy is excellent. The upper purple half is adorned with panel lines, raised edges, and geometric patterns, while the bottom pearlescent gray half has all kinds of mechanical detail. You can install 3 AA batteries (not included) and switch the power on to activate the ship’s lights and sounds with a press of a button. There are several different flying and battle sounds, but the only lights are in the thrusters, which do look very nice. Flying the ship around is easy with the conveniently molded, yet aesthetically invisible handle. Press the red buttons on either side to open the hatches and deploy a Zyclops pod! The pod may or may not land upright, that’s very trial and error. It’s still a cool feature though. Have even more Zyclopses on hand? Store them in the hidden battle stations up top. When you’re done playing, display the Mothership using the landing gear underneath!
