Disney Pixar Lightyear Core Figures Buzz Lightyear, Izzy Hawthorne, Fremont & Mo Morrison Review

The Lightyear core figure line is comprised of action figures approximately 5 inches tall. Looking across all 4, the molded detail is pretty sharp, and the painting is clean and well done. Where color matching needed to be done, like on Mo’s shoulder pads for example, the color matching between paint and plastic is spot on. Articulation is similar on all 4, but as an example, we’ll use Buzz. There is movement at the head, shoulders, 90 degree elbow and knee bends, and waist swivel. You can also swivel at the shoulders, wrists and knees, which can help when trying to get some cool poses off with the accessories.

Speaking of, Buzz comes with his laser blade DX, Mo comes with a harpoon blaster and removable helmet, Izzy has a blaster rifle and removable helmet, and lastly, Fremont has standard issue Star Command weapons, a small blaster and laser blade. Not all of the accessories fit into the hand very well, but due to the swivels in the wrist and elbows, you can have both arms stabilizing the blasters. Another note, Izzy and Mo’s articulati on is severely encumbered at the shoulders due to the molded pads, despite there being a joint. It’s slightly made up for by the fact that the sculpts are very true to the movie, especially in the likenesses.
