Creativity for Kids Build & Grow Magical Land and Rainbow Garden Stone Review

Have fun in the garden with two new kits from Creativity for Kids.

The Build & Grow Magical Land lets kids ages 6 and up build and decorate a wooden castle display and then grow chia seeds in the castle’s garden planters. Start by painting the wooden pieces, and then follow the instructions to assemble and glue the pieces together. Assembly is not always easy, and even adults will have difficulty inserting the wooden pieces. Once built, add the five animal figures to inspire some play. To grow the chia seeds, add water to the grow mats, and once the mats absorb the water, sprinkle a few seeds on top. Wrap green cardstock strips around the plastic tray, and add the chia trays in front of the castle and rainbow. Seeds should begin to sprout within three to five days when kept in a warm, sunny place and watered daily. This set includes wooden cut-outs, chia seeds, jute grow mats, plastic grow trays, a water dropper, two-sided adhesive dots, mini animal figures, acrylic paint, a paint brush, craft glue, glitter gel, stickers, cardstock cut-outs, craft string, and illustrated instructions.

The Rainbow Garden Stone comes with mosaic tiles that kids ages 8 and up add to the rainbow design on the pre-molded cement stone. Mix up the special resin and fill the bottom of the stone’s cavities with it. Use the putty-filled stylus to pick up tiles and insert them in the resin. When you’re done, allow the resin to rest on a level surface for 24 hours to cure. Then use the glow paint to fill in the stars. When everything is dry, place your garden stone outside or under a bright light. If you turn off the lights or when it gets dark outside, the stone will cast a subtle glow. This is not a real stepping stone. It’s to be used and admired as a decorative work of art. The kit comes with a 10-inch garden stone, two-part Resin A and B, plastic mosaic tiles, glow-in-the-dark paint, plastic gloves, a plastic cup, two stirring sticks, a pipette, a wood stick, sticky putty, mosaic tile stylus, and instructions.
