aMake some spring art with the Craft Crush DIY Arched String Art kit and DIY Nature Lantern kit. Both of these result in beautiful artwork that kids can keep out on display in their rooms.
The String Art kit comes with 185 pieces so that teens can create a statement art piece with wire flowers and metallic leaves on a wooden easel. The kit does include embroidery thread, a foam canvas, 90 metal pins, 40 die-cut paper pieces, 12 printed die-cut paper pieces, one piece of paper with tape, 27 metal wires, cardstock with tape, 10 rubber bands, and a wood easel, but you’ll need to provide a few items from home, such as a hard work surface, scissors, a ruler, a pen or pencil, and tweezers.
With the DIY Nature Lantern, you’ll collect and press flowers and leaves to create a glowing lantern. It comes with 12 pieces of tissue paper, two pieces of printed tissue paper, a foam brush, two ounces of water-based glue, a piece of cardboard, a battery-operated tea light, two pieces of plastic, 2.5 yards of jute cord, and instructions. Follow the instructions to assemble the lantern, and press flowers and leaves that you’ve collected from outside. Then, you decoupage the pressed leaves and flowers, adding designs from the patterned tissue paper. Once the lantern is finished to your liking, insert the tea light and watch it glow.

Should I get it?
Crafty kids will like creating some really cool room decor with either of these kits. Even though these are for ages 13 and up, some of the steps for both kits can be tricky to complete, so kids may need help from an adult. The look of the finished product may vary depending on a child’s age and skill level, but we’re sure kids will be pleased with the outcome knowing that it’s something they made themselves.
