Connect 4 Frenzy Review

Connect 4 Frenzy is a fast-paced version of the classic four-in-a-row game. You still need to get four in a row to win, but in this version, you bounce discs off the table and into spots on the grid. Everyone bounces at the same time, and you can steal spots from the other team. The game comes with a grid, a cover, and 44 discs (22 red and 22 yellow). You can play with two to six players ages 8 and up.

To get started, remove the cover from the game grid and store it underneath. Split into two teams: team red and team yellow. It’s helpful if you alternate players around the table so teammates can catch any discs that go flying. Place the colored discs on the table in piles near each teammate. Count down from four, and then all players simultaneously start bouncing their discs off the table and into the grid. Keep playing until a team gets four discs of their color in a row either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. (You can also play Corners or Center.)

If your disc lands in the same grid spot as another disc, you steal that spot. Only the disc on top counts. If your disc doesn’t land in the grid, pick it up and bounce it again. If it lands on the grid but not in a spot, just leave it there because it may get knocked into a spot later. 

If you want a less frenzied game, take turns bouncing the discs instead of playing all at once. This might be an ideal way to play if it’s your first time or you’re playing with younger players.
