If you like video games and race cars, then you’ll love the combination play of Carrera Hybrid. With two slot cars included and 15 track pieces that can be configured in multiple ways, the Carrera Hybrid Highway Challenge set is ready to race. All you need to add is the free app, which allows you to connect and control cars. You can race different challenges in the app to level up, free drive solo both on and off the track, and create or join races with friends. You can add additional cars to your in-app garage, but the app will only control one vehicle at a time. To race with friends, they will need the app on a separate device. Keep track of the tracks you’ve built by scanning them into the app. The included cars run on rechargeable batteries, and charging cables are included.Â

Should I get it?
The track pieces are large, allowing you to build with 19.98 feet of track. This is a toy that’s going to take up a lot of space, although you can build smaller track configurations by not using all of the track pieces at once. It is nice to have the wide track pieces and the number of track pieces because it does make navigating the cars around the track easier – there’s just more room. And there will be a learning curve both to using the app and controlling the cars, but figuring that out is part of the play. Kids – and adults – will like creating their own tracks, challenging friends to different races, and leveling up their slot car racing skills with this set.
