With Big Fat Yarn, creativity is at your fingertips. That’s because you use your fingers to knit soft yarn crafts. No tools required! The Big Fat Yarn Plush Decor Kit comes with 11 pieces for finger knitting a round plush decor or watermelon plush decor. If you want to try them both, make one, then take it apart and make the other.
The instructions show you how to finger knit, which is a combination of two basic techniques: typing a slip knot and making a chain of slip knots. Once you get those techniques down, you can follow the directions for making the round plush or the watermelon plush. The round plush is a medium difficulty level, while the watermelon plush is a hard difficulty level.Â
The kit’s contents include a pink Big Fat Yarn bundle, a teal Big Fat Yarn bundle, a yellow Big Fat Yarn bundle, two plush inserts, and six felt see appliques.Â

Should I get it?
Crafty kids will have fun making their own plush decor. We like that you don’t need knitting needles to knit these crafts and that this kit comes with two design options. However, you can only make one design at a time.Â
That said, this is not an easy craft. The written instructions are not easy to follow, and we wish that the video instructions were a step-by-step tutorial with verbal instructions as opposed to just watching someone make the craft at high speed. It took us three tries to make the round plush, and it still didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to per the instructions. If this is your first time making a Big Fat Yarn craft, we’d recommend finding a kit that has an Easy difficulty level, as opposed to starting with this one, which is Medium and Hard.
